Ingredients for Eggless Chocolate Cake
Refined flour (maida) 1 1/2 cups
Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
Butter 1 cup + to grease
Sweetened condensed milk 1 cup
Vanilla esssence 1 teaspoon
Baking powder 1 teaspoon
Milk 1 cup
Icing sugar for dusting
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180º C. Grease a cake tin with some butter and dust a little dry flour. Discard excess flour.
Step 2
Take butter, condensed milk and vanilla essence in a mixing bowl and beat with an electric beater till light and fluffy.
Step 3
Sieve refined flour, cocoa powder and baking powder directly into the butter mixture.
Step 4
Fold in with a spatula. Add milk and mix into a lump-free batter.
Step 5
Transfer the batter into the prepared cake tin and tap lightly on the worktop to remove any air bubbles.
Step 6
Keep the cake tin in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Step 7
Demould the cake on a serving plate, dust with icing sugar. Cut into wedges and serve.
